Swimmers Receive Brothers-All-Natural Fruit Crisps at the Santa Anita Family YMCA
We were proud to show support for this amazing event by donating Fruit Crisps for the athletes at the Swim Meet
The Santa Anita Family YMCA Stingrays Special Needs aquatic team held a unified swim meet on August 31st,2014. The unified swim meet brought together special needs and healthy athletes to compete together. The goal of this swim meet was to show “that there are no disabilities in the world only abilities.” Over 250 swimmers participated in the swim meet. All participants received a healthy breakfast, snacks and lunch. Athletes received a medal at the end of the meet and was treated to a goodie bag for them to take home.
The Santa Anita Family YMCA adaptable swim program started in 2013, it’s a program to teach water safety, basic and advance swimming techniques to people with all types of special needs. Swimmers age ranges from anywhere from 6 to 55 years of age. Their main goal is to make sure everyone starts with the proper water safety skills and along with teaching swim techniques so they can advance to our Stingray Special Needs swim team.
