Sweet delicious apples and cinnamon with a baked crumbly oat topping. Serve it warm and with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups Water
- 3/4 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons Honey
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 12 bags Brothers-All-Natural Fuji Apple Crisps
Crumble Topping
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Rolled Oats
- 6 tablespoons Butter (Room temperature)
- 1/3 cup Brown Sugar (Tightly packed)
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
Directions
Step 1
|
Preheat oven to 375°F. Pan spray an 8” x 8” square baking dish (or 9-inch round pan) and set aside. |
Step 2
|
In a medium pot combine the water, ¾ tsp. cinnamon, honey, and vanilla. Bring to a boil over high heat. Turn off heat and fold in the Brothers-All-Natural Fuji Apple Crisps. Let the fruit absorb the liquid (about 3-4 minutes), while occasionally stirring. There will be leftover liquid in the bottom of the pot. Pour fruit and any excess liquid into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Step 3
|
To make the crumble topping, in a medium bowl combine the flour, oats, butter, packed brown sugar, and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Work the butter in by hand or by using a pastry blender, just until combined. Mixture should be slightly moist, not dry. Evenly spread crumble topping over apple mixture.
Step 4
|
Bake in the oven for approximately 35-40 minutes or until topping is lightly browned and filling caramelizes. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
